This is a massive shame, as while BB10 market share is small, there is still a huge community of users who will suffer from the loss of a major messaging app like Whats App.

It can be easy to dismiss Black Berry as dead, but it’s not.

We cannot guarantee that this method will work for everyone as it is a workaround that depends on third party software, and you may encounter problems.

NB: Please note that while we have not experienced unwanted side-effects on our devices after installing Whats App in this way, we cannot fully speak to the effects on the security of your Black Berry device.

Snap allows you install Android apps to your phone as though they have been downloaded from the Google Play Store.

Snap is free, though the developer gives you the option to donate to its upkeep if you wish.

Connect the Curve to your computer and choose "Update" in the Black Berry Desktop Software.

Select "View Other Versions" and then choose the latest software version from the list displayed.

If the Black Berry Curve still won't boot up, the only option remaining is to reload the operating system.

This process will erase any data and applications that you have stored on the device.

Click "Install Update." Your Black Berry Curve may take up to an hour to reboot after this update.
